The Quilt story

For generations , Kutch in Northern India has been home to nomadic communities with a rich and cultural tapestry. Migration brought the distinctive elements of craft traditions from Sindh and Northern India to Kutch. These elements coupled with inherited skills and their distinct cultural communal identity are deeply embedded in the region's craft and culture.

Presenting to you , a single edition limited range of quilts using our signature technique of Boro patchwork with local regional embroidery and stitches. These quilts have been layered with 2 interlining layers of cotton , with a front and the back layer sandwiched together.

Embroidery is by the women of the Mutwa community in Bhuj, Kutch who are known for their embroidery . It is said, there are more than 25 different types of embroidery in the local archives. We have shortlisted a range of 8 of them to be presented in our quilts.

Single edition pieces that have travelled from our studio from Kolkata, in the eastern part of India to the North West , to Kutch.
