This limited edition set of 2 contains a Baluchari Jhola tote and a Zipper pouch bag.
1) The Baluchari Jhola tote is in cotton tassar and woven with a panel of figurative motif characteristic of the Baluchari sarees from Murshidarbad in West Bengal. In a shade of neutral beige, this tote uses an interlining of foam and delicate quilting in checks. The lining inside is in a dyed thick cotton in a contrast shade of mint green.
Spacious enough for an ipad, a 13 inch notebook , your journal , waterbottle, your umbrella. It is also perfect to carry your books in your next book-haul , or just about carrying anything !
2) The Baluchari zipper pouch bag is a short envelope shaped bag with a baluchari woven panel and a zipper closure finished with our handmade latkans.
Use it as a bag-insert inside your open tote for storing cosmetics or odds and ends like keys and phone.

About Baluchari designs :
The sarees that are called Baluchari, have been originally woven in the Murshidabad region of West Bengal. Using the traditional jala looms, priot to weaving these looms required an elaborate and intricate set-up. The original motifs used, had immense socio-cultural significance, as they were first commisioned by the first Nawab of Bengal and contained courtly scenes of revelry.
Baluchari sarees have been granted the status of geographical indication (GI) of India.
